Grootvadersbosch Farm is the Heidelberg district, about 250km from Cape Town. Of the 2500 ha, only 25% is used for dairy farming. The rest is Fynbos, forest and Renosterveld. The old homestead was built in 1735 and has been home to 6 generations of the Moodie family since 1818.

Snelsetter House is on Grootvadersbosch Farm and has 5 en suite rooms. We cater for groups of 10 people sharing (Please contact us if your group needs to be bigger). The large lounge has a fire place for cold winter evenings. There is a well equipped kitchen and spacious dining room. There is a splash pool in the graden.

Breakfast is served at Snelsetter before you set off for your daily walk. Cereal, homemade muesli, oats, homemade bread and jams, fruit and yoghurt, tea and coffee.
Lunch is packed for along the way. Sandwiches, fruit, juice and water.
Dinner is enjoyed with your hosts at the old homestead.
The guesthouse is supplied with fresh milk daily, tea, coffee and sugar. Spring water is on tap.
